Vietnam Soldier Sculpture
While we hope you’ll take time to explore the entire memorial park, let’s look particularly at the bronze sculpture of the Vietnam soldier by Roger Rowley. Don Witmer, who served in Vietnam as a tunnel rat, shinnying through dangerous passages ahead of his comrades, posed for this statue. Don was a leader in the local effort to honor and respect Vietnam Veterans.

“Taken Home“
Walk a few steps to the corner of the building to view a mahogany sculpture by Pennsylvania chainsaw artist, Scott Dow. “Taken Home” depicts an angel carrying a soldier to Heaven. Local veteran Barrett Scott donated the statue in 2015.
Directions: Continuing toward the covered walkway, stop outside the Massillon Police Department to see the statue dedicated to law enforcement officials who died in the line of duty.
