Follow the blue arrows on the signs as you walk

The building on your right can be seen in an early-1850s photograph that Abel Fletcher took from Main Street (which is now called Lincoln Way) bridge.  A century later, it housed Doney’s Bar, where the peanut shells were so thick on the floor that every time the door opened, many blew out onto the sidewalk.  I’m sure losing tip board slips were among the shells, since that was the era when gambling was rife in downtown Massillon.

Directions: Turn right onto Lincoln Way and stop in from of Smiley’s Ristorante with the red and green striped awning.
